First of all, I would like to wish all of you a very happy Easter holidays. I hope you have a great time and get lots of rest too!
This week I had to take a new challenge for my ICT class at the Masters. Guess what it was about! We had to make a prototype of what our final CLIL e-project for this subject was going to be like. In addition, we had to make a video to introduce and explain our project to the public. As you can see, it was not an easy task this time!
After some days thinking about it, I finally chose "the countries of Europe" as the topic for my project . The main reason why I decided on this topic was because my students in the Masters' traineeship are learning about Europe right now, and I'm seeing how geography can be such an abstract and boring subject for them. This made me think of possible ways to make geography more appealing and significant to them and here you are the results! I hope you like them!
I used Powtoon to make my project's video clip because I think it is an awesome tool to make attractive presentations, something that I believe is essential for catching people's attention. Moreover, it counts with a great variety of unique resources (characters, backgrounds, types of texts....etc) that surely fits everybody's idea of what a good presentation should be like. All of that while allowing you to record your voice or even add background music to it. It is just great, and most important of all, it is free!
I tried to make a short, eye-catching video that would summarise the most relevant facts about my project and that could also serve me as a way of increasing my students' interest towards it. Do you want to have a look at it? Just click on the image!:
Finally, I also used Google docs to develop my project's prototype more in depth, so if after watching my video you want to know more about it, just click here:
That's all! I hope you found my ideas interesting and enjoyed my video clip. I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions about them!
